Our Vision and Mission

As members of HBBC we seek to love God through …..

Relevant Biblical teaching that changes lives
We recognise that it is primarily through His Word that Christ rules his church ands therefore we must make every effort to understand and apply His Word to our lives in the situation in which we are living today through personal study, regular attendance and in the teaching of our families.

Fervent prayer that is both personal and corporate
We recognise the need to fulfil the ministry of prayer not only privately but also by being present at meetings for corporate prayer whenever possible.

Passionate Outreach both at home and overseas
We recognise that this is the great commission which Jesus gave his disciples. To fulfil it, we need to be meaningfully involved with people, and to be able to communicate clearly and lovingly, the truth of the gospel as we seek to introduce other to the Lord Jesus Christ.
We recognise that we have a responsibility to engage in the work of world mission through praying, giving and going.

Loving relationships across the generations
We recognise that as members of the body of Christ it is both our privilege and responsibility to love, accept and care for one another.

Serving others as we identify and use our spiritual gifts
We recognise that we need to identify, develop and use the gifts of every member in ministry so that the church might be built up and mature.

Engaging with our society in ways that are culturally relevant
We recognise that we need to cultivate a biblical worldview that enables us to engage with others in a meaningful way whilst holding to the unchanging qualities of our faith.

Joyful and creative worship that is grounded in scripture
We recognise that true worship is a matter of the heart but that it can be expressed in different ways, using a variety of musical instruments and different kinds of psalms, hymns and spiritual songs, which are both traditional and contemporary.

Authentic Christianity that affects the way we live
We recognise that we must endeavour to live a life that is increasingly consistent with our profession of faith.
We recognise that we need to share each Sunday, unless unavoidably prevented, in the corporate worship of the church and to be regular and faithful in remembering the death of the Lord Jesus Christ at the Lords Table.
We recognise the need to give systematically as God provides, for the work of the church at home and overseas
We recognise that we have a responsibility to support the oversight   as those set apart by the Lord and His people and together by seeking and submitting to the will of the Lord Jesus Christ the Head of the Church to further the work of the Kingdom of God
